Visit to Goddard by the SM3A crew
A few month after the December '99 servicing mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope, the astronauts visited NASA Goddard to celebrate a successful mission. Six of the seven members of the crew joined us at a party afterwards.
We had met the commander for this mission, Curtis Brown several times
before
because he commanded STS-95,
the HOST mission.
Michael Foale was one of the space walkers, and he also was the
American
astronaut on Mir, when the collision accident occurred.
Steve Smith was another one of the space walkers.
One of my colleques, Jill, posed in this costume space walk
suit to give the kids an idea of what one looks like.
